FAQs

FAQs

Q. Do you accept health insurance?
A. We are pleased to accept most major health insurers.

Q. Does insurance cover appointments with Dr. Morgentaler for his Personalized Men’s Health Program?
A.  Medical care provided by Dr. Morgentaler will be billed through your health insurance.  However, insurance does not cover the annual membership fee charged for participation in the Personalized Men’s Health program.   Please call us for details.

Q.  Does Dr. Morgentaler perform telephone consultations?
A. Yes.  Please call us to schedule this.  However, it is important to be aware that a telephone consultation does not meet the requirements to establish a patient-doctor relationship.  Dr. Morgentaler will be happy to provide you with advice based on your telephone consultation, but he is unable to treat you or prescribe medications without a face-to-face meeting.

Q.  Is parking available?
A.  There is an adjacent parking garage and on-street metered parking spots are also available.

Q.  May I bring in results of my prior lab work so it will not need to be repeated?
A.  Please bring to your appointment whatever test results you feel may be useful.   Operative notes and biopsy reports are particularly valuable if they are relevant to your visit at Men’s Health Boston.  Your healthcare provider will review your test results and will only order additional tests if he feels they are necessary.

Q.  Do you see patients for second opinions?
A. Yes.  We are happy to provide second opinions.

Q.  Can I have a vasectomy performed on the same day as my consultation?
A. Yes.  A same-day procedure is convenient for men who are confident about their decision to undergo a vasectomy.  However, for many men it is helpful to schedule a consultation first, and to schedule the procedure at a later date once they are comfortable with their decision.

Q. Do I need a companion to come with me to my appointment or procedure?
A.  It is not necessary to have anyone join you for routine appointments, although we encourage the participation of partners, particularly for fertility or sexual issues.  Your healthcare provider will let you know if someone should accompany you for a scheduled procedure.

Q.  How can I obtain a copy of my records from Men’s Health Boston?
A.  We will be happy to provide you with a copy of your medical records.  Please contact the office to arrange for this.
