Microwave Thermotherapy (TUMT)

Microwave Heat Therapy, or “thermotherapy”, offers an exciting and effective advance in the treatment of enlarged prostates causing urinary obstruction and frequent or urgent urination symptoms. Using a special catheter, the prostate is heated. A water cooling system surrounds the heating coil to protect the urethral lining.

The heating of the prostate causes the obstructing tissue to shrink over several weeks, leaving a larger passageway for the urine. The process relieves many symptoms of the enlarged prostate.
