Dr.
Abraham Morgentaler and colleagues
have published a series of
papers on the relationship
of testosterone and prostate
cancer. The good news for men
with low testosterone is that
the evidence now strongly suggests
that treatment with testosterone
does not cause any increased
risk of cancer. The concerning
news, though, is that new data
suggest that men who do have
low testosterone may be at
a somewhat increased risk of
already having a hidden prostate
cancer.
Since prostate cancer is completely
curable when discovered early,
Dr. Morgentaler and the staff
at Men's Health Boston encourage
men with low testosterone to
undergo testing for this.
